The law is never something to take lightly especially when the specific law is set in place to prevent the loss of human life. Gun control laws have a basis set by the federal government and are expanded upon by each individual state as they deem fit. Federal gun laws and state gun laws have their similarities and differences, but both are set in place as a barrier of protection against those who could cause bodily harm to others if equipped with such power that a gun holds. The U.S federal Government has its own set of regulations concerning firearms and the state of California builds upon them to create a stronger gun policy, meaning both sets of codes and regulations have similarities and differences, but no matter the differences, these laws are set in place to prevent massacres like the Las Vegas, Nevada shooting, and while California gun laws are built upon federal laws, they can be improved for a safer more controlled environment. Federal gun laws are the foundation for state laws and the building blocks for more advanced restrictions set by individual
If you recollect about it, this really should be an anticipated effect of gun control, though most people don 't remember far enough past the words "gun" and "control" to see it. When you do give up and recollect about it though, the criminals who are committing crimes at present are the ones still making this a relevant issue of discussion in the foremost position. They are the aces who are either getting access to certain weapons that are already illegal and/or the ones who are using legal weapons illegally. If it weren 't for them disregarding laws and causing these crime rates to fail up, gun control would not still be in
Strict regulations and limitations have been pursued already and clearly do not suffice. Statics brought to attention by gun control opponents, show that gun control laws have done little to reduce crime rates. Several restrictions have been made on certain guns, considered as overly dangerous, though in the hands of an unstable criminal even a legal hunting gun can be deadly. Countless restrictions have been made, however people have still found ways around them. If people are unstable and determined enough, they will find a gun, regardless of the restrictions or regulations.
Not all who purchase guns are criminals but there are more than 70% of people who purchase guns to create violence and even to kill their family members in anger. Due to lots of shooting going on these days, the government now definitely should not allow anyone to purchase any kind of guns. Also, ask everyone with guns to give it back to the government. Now people need to live in peace without being afraid of
I don’t want more crime just because people have stricter gun laws. Taking away guns may cause people to go to other ways of committing violent crimes. I also think if we have don’t have more gun control laws, then gun deaths would reduce dramatically. American children under age 15 were nine times more likely to die of a gun accident than children in other advanced wealthy countries. About 200 Americans go to emergency rooms every day with gunshot wounds (Frum).
1st Amendment: The First Amendment of the United States Constitution states that “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridg-ing the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” In short, this amendment prohibits the establishment of a state religion, protects freedom of the press and speech, and protects the right to assemble and petition the government. The establishment clause enforces the separation of church and state and prohibits the government from restricting a citizen’s religious practices and forbids the government from forcing religion onto its citizens.
In this day and time, there are a plethora of new laws being made because of the number of homicides that have been committed, killing numerous innocent citizens. This has forced our government to try and take a stand by making these laws. Including the gun control laws, the gun control laws are why I am making my essay to begin with, I want to share my thoughts on gun control laws from a pro gun prospective. I believe that we should not have gun control laws for numerous reasons. The first reason is a gun doesn’t kill a person its man on man crime.
On the other side, guns control also create equality between police and citizens. However, guns are banned or not, criminals will find any
On the other hand, people believe that criminals will still find a way to possess firearms so they need the weapons to defend themselves against the
Once and again, the issue about gun laws continues to be the top debate for the past decade or so whether to regulate or not regulate gun control. Many issues that citizens and lawmakers relay is that guns do more harm than good and others say that it is for the protection of citizens. With all the mass shootings that have happened it makes the people including myself rethink that we should have some sort of gun regulations to prevent it. However, others say it doesn’t stop another person from finding new ways to harm others. Maybe the constitution was written for the American people to have guns were for the government to call them to war when things get dire.
There is no reason to completely take away guns from people, criminals will still find a way.
Criminals do not usually acquire their guns through the proper channels as law-abiding citizens would. Those who would need stricter gun laws would not even be affected by the change. For instance, there are plenty of illegal drugs that are used by people every day. Just because something is outlawed does not mean that no one will take part in it. The theory that if gun laws were more strict this would cut down on crime.
They fear that they will not be able to protect themselves on a daily basis, or in a worse case scenario, protect themselves if the government happened to turn on citizens of the country. They would also argue that people, especially criminals, can still find ways to gain access to guns. Guns should not be banned in the United States due to them being able
The issue with implanting strict gun control regulations in our society is that people will become vulnerable targets for criminals. Criminals will continue to conduct harmful crimes, despite the laws, and law-abiding citizens won’t have the necessary weapons needed to successfully defend themselves. For instance, “59% of the burglaries in Britain, which has tough gun control laws, are ‘hot burglaries’ which are burglaries committed while the home is occupied by the owner/renter. By contrast, the U.S., with more lenient gun control laws, has a ‘hot burglary’ rate of only 13%” (“Crimes and Guns”). The implementation of gun control laws will thus increase crime rates as people will become vulnerable targets for criminals.
"’Make no mistake -- they 're coming for our guns. And we freedom-loving gun lovers are totally defenseless! Other than, you know, the guns’ -Stephen Colbert” (Kurtzman 1). There are as many people who advocate for pro gun laws as the people who are opposed, which is the reason why gun control has become one of the most controversial topics as of right now. America is truly split between those who advocate for gun control and those who are opposed.
