From the recent case of the Connecticut shooting, this article explains how there is an increase of demand in the state of Dallas for high powered guns due to the Government speculated to impose a strict no gun law . The problem is the decrease in supply causing excess demand which then creates a shortage in the market. This problem can be visualised through the means of a negative externality graph. Before the incident, the price point of guns lie at point Qe.

They found that there was no real difference in the statistical evaluation of whether or not gun control contributed to improving those areas, rather some areas saw an increase in deaths by firearms during their study. Throughout history, especially recently, the question of whether gun control violates the 2nd Amendment has been a question which many people claim they know the answer to, but it may not be that transparent. I believe gun control is constitutional, and it deters crime and makes society safer, meaning I side with the pro-gun control ideas. As of March 5, 2018, there have been 12 school shootings this year alone. That’s about one school shooting every five days, but yet there has been no change made to prevent travesties like this. Gun control is a very controversial subject in the US. There are only two sides to the debate: those who want gun control, and those who don’t. Especially in light of recent events, more people are starting to realize that gun control is necessary now more than ever.
A stronger focus on gun control in the United States involving restriction or even an outright ban of guns could serve to help the problem greatly. In 2015, 13,286 people were killed by firearms in the United States, with 26,819 suffering from non-lethal injuries (qtd. in “Guns in the US”). Taking away guns, the means that many urban criminals have to commit their crimes, would be very beneficial to cities. A challenging aspect in today’s society is the need to address stronger gun control possibilities. New gun control bills could easily be placed in the ballots, but questioning the ability to have long term affects if much different. Many gun owners are set in old ways and never want to see changes that could affect their way of life. Just like many of the members of the National Rifle Association that believe back ground checks are enough and it should stay that way. It had seemed like the push of gun control in America had been rising and rising but along the way, a small change was seen that impacted those who were toward gun control. First one must understand that nowadays many states bring different restrictions in order to take a step toward safety. In “The Long Road to Gun Control in America” Devi Sharmila shows that without a helping hand these efforts will have been for naught. The CDC tried to make efforts toward a stricter gun regulatory system in the 1990’s but to no avail. They would have continued to do research but Congress decided to cut their funds equal to the amount of time spent researching gun violence.
Whenever the conversation comes up, they defend their claim by stating that it is their second amendment right to own guns. When our Founding Fathers passed this law, the guns they were using only fired two bullets per minute and were not being used to murder students in school. Guns were once used to “protect people from violent crimes and attacks,” now we have police to do the job for us. Regular people aren’t as trained as the professionals therefore many accidents occur which result in deaths. The same people who oppose gun control laws say that “guns are not the only way people can kill people,” which is true but guns are the most effective way of killing, so by restricting who buys a gun and who doesn’t will significantly decrease the total number of deaths in the United
