Has the thought on why the death penalty is one of the best crime preventions we have ever crossed your mind? The death penalty should be used more often and maybe not as closed off to the public as it has been the 1834. The death penalty could do a lot of good i believe for the younger generations and maybe even the generations around right now. I believe that the death penalty is not being used enough, due to the government wanting to protect the public eye and not use it as an example on how not to act. The death penalty used to set an example for people on how they should not act and what crimes they should not commit. From a constitutional perspective, the answer is almost certainly that the death penalty does not qualify as cruel and unusual punishment per the 8th Amendment.
