Going through daily life you experience many different things, and most of them are the daily rigors of life that you do not think twice about. However, sometimes you have experiences that are not part of your average day, and those are the experience, I believe you learn the most from. One experience that has contributed the most to my development since I have been at West Point is the investigation into the lacrosse team last year. While I was not involved in the investigation, I experienced the effects and aftermath of the investigation. One thing that I believe has not contributed to my development is my relationship/ experience with my TAC team and my instructors. However, this is not to the fault of my TAC team or instructors, but a fault of mine. During my time at west point, I have failed to make connections and truly leverage the resources that are available to me at the Academy. As I am now learning instructors and TACs are willing to mentor and help coach you throughout the year, all you have to do is ask. I wish I had to a good reason why I have not reached out to more of my instructors to learn from them. After all, when I graduate I will need to know the basics of being an officer, so why would I not learn all I can from the officers around me. That is why I would say the experiences that have helped with my development the least are the ones with my TAC and Instructors. They all know so much more than just the subjects they teach, and I need to use them to help me develop as much as possible. West Point is a unique experience itself, and even in daily activities provides unique experience to learn from. Some of these experiences are thrust upon you like mine with the lacrosse team, and others you have to go out and seek.
