What I Learned In My Writing Class

From reading, comprehending, editing, and writing, we finally made it. When I walked into this class on the first day I was nervous and unaware of this class; moreover, I was not a great writer and I thought this class would be extremely difficult. Throughout the semester, Freshman Comp became easier. Now I know how to write at a college level, and use correct sentence structure. At the beginning of the semester, I expected this class to be time consuming, although it was, the class taught me to have time management skills. Having a paper due in less than a week made me have to start the day I received the assignment and not procrastinate. Because of being enrolled in five college classes, and having a job, I did not read as many books as I hoped to; on the other hand, I have improved on my writing skills. The first assignment I had in this class was to write a paper over how reading and writing has influenced our lives. When I completed my final copy, I thought that there is no reason for me to be scared of this class because I thought my writing was already at a college level. However, when I got my grade back, I soon realized that my writing was not up to the college level writing criteria. Now when I write papers, I have a better understanding on sentence structures, dead word, and transitions. I can write a paper now and know how to edit myself, along with making sure it is college level work. I feel I have a better understanding of writing papers, although, there are places still where I could have improvement. For example, I could improve on my vocabulary. When we were handed a list of words college students should know, I had no clue what any of the words meant, but now I have a larger wide spread
