Introduction The case study that we are analyzing are pharmaceutical companies that are looking to merge. The first Pharmaceutical company is called Mylan N. V., the service that they provide a drug called EpiPen that administers a medication to counteract an allergic reaction. This is the only drug out on the market. This has allowed them to be cost drivers in the market, but the company is still looking to reduce production costs. Along with the acquisition of the small pharmaceutical company Milo. They are currently creating a new allergy drug that is currently going through the clinical trials with great outcomes. It is said that people get put in ethical dilemmas because of the pressures of the upper management or coworkers. They say that putting strict deadlines will create a judgment trap because there is pressure to keep their jobs. In the case study there are many traps and biases that are in the work place. Starting with Stan who showed judgment triggers and framing which is to look at a problem with a limited perspective. He was in the situation where he didn’t feel like it was bad judgement to not inform the CDC that the scientist didn’t completely state all the expenses in the upcoming trials. This is a problem considering that he didn’t think it was a problem, even though it is just overlooking her deceitfulness. Ms. Small had made a rush to solve which is solving a problem immediately with making a quick judgment. The situation that she did this was the with production costs to lower expenses. To accomplish this, she threated to fire the production manager if he did not get the expenses lower. Stan also did Anchoring presenting a numerical value based on historical cost. He used the historical cost which was not a problem since that was the only values that he had, it is that he did not state during the presentation the fact that they were last year’s
