If Tybalt was not cocky, then Mercutio’s death could have been prevented. Which would have stopped Romeo from being banned, the text states, “Romeo, the hate I bear thee can afford no better term than this,--thou art a villain” (shakespeare 3.1 56). This shows that if Tybalt had not been so cocky. Romeo’s
This was still a very big cost that Romeo had to pay and that consequence almost cost him the love of his life. Instead of thinking about how to solve the problem, he went and killed Tybalt without thinking of the consequences and how it could affect the people around him. Killing Tybalt almost led to Juliet committing suicide the first time, and the second time she actually did kill herself. Romeo didn't think about Juliet when killing Tybalt, which makes him selfish. If Romeo was never punished, Romeo and Juliet could have found a much easier way of escaping, and they could've lived happily ever after.
The death of Romeo and Juliet was very thrilling, but who was at fault for it? Romeo and Juliet are lovers from enemy families; Romeo is a Montague and Juliet is a Capulet. Romeo and Juliet met at a masquerade party and fell in love. They secretly got married. Later in the story Romeo gets banished, and they split apart but desperately try to see each other again.
Romeo and Juliet at its core it's a tragic death story, there has to be someone to blame for the death of the two lovers. Romeo is exiled from the city and after Juliet learns about this she goes to Friar Lawrence and threatens to kill herself. Juliet and the Friar Lawrence come up with a plan to make it look like Juliet is dead and Romeo doesn't know and he gets a vile of poison and goes to kill himself next to her body. In this situation Friar John is to blame for not getting the letter to Romeo on time like he said he would.
In my opinion, Romeo and Juliet?s death was the fault of Romeo. There are many reasons why characters such as: Mercutio, Juliet, and Friar Lawrence are responsible but, I think without some of Romeos actions, Romeo and Juliet would have had a different ending in the story. In the beginning, Romeo had a great love for Rosaline. But Rosaline didn?t love Romeo.

I’m sure everybody has all heard of William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet play. If you have ever read the play, or possibly watched movies about it, have you ever wondered what lead to the young lovers, Romeo and Juliet’s tragic death? In my opinion, there are many reasons to list why Romeo and Juliet died. A few reasons to name are: Romeo getting banished, the hate for the Montagues and Capulets (Romeo and Juliet’s families), and Romeo and Juliet falling in love at such a young age. In the paragraphs below, I will explain why I think those events caused Romeo and Juliet’s deaths.
William Shakespeare wrote one of the most well known romance stories in the world, ‘The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet,’ in which Romeo’s family hates Juliet’s family, and Juliet’s family hates Romeo’s family, it’s been this way for quite some time. One night at a party that Juliet’s family is throwing, Romeo decides to crash it with a couple friends and that is where it all begins. Juliet and Romeo meet, of course Juliet not knowing who Romeo is because he is wearing a mask like the other gentlemen. Romeo and Juliet have only known one another for about five to seven minutes, but they are both now in love. Later that night Juliet finds out who Romeo is and they get married in secret, but that’s not where our story ends and they don’t live happily ever after.
Though the fault may seem collective, almost every event in The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet can be traced back to one person. One singular person caused the death of at least 6 people, the impulsive nature of Romeo was one of the main reasons that the events of The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet played out the way they did. Romeo’s obsession with Rosaline, ability to fall in love in seconds, and terrible decision skills is what lead to this misfortunate event. In the beginning of the play, Romeo does not even know Juliet exists.
Is your hatred worth sacrificing someone you love? In this play, two star-crossed lovers commit suicide for their love; but whose fault was Romeo & Juliet’s death? Throughout Romeo & Juliet Fate and Friar Lawrence have played a big role in their lives, but their family feud had caused their deaths. To begin with, the Montagues and Capulets have had a long-heated rivalry, and hate each other with a burning passion. Families were forbidden to befriend one another due to their “parents rage,” and “parents strife”.
Who’s fault was the death of Romeo and Juliet? Was it Romeo? Or was it Juliet? It was Juliet, she was the reason for both of her and Romeo’s eventual death. The reason it was her fault was her stupidity and love that clouded her judgement.
