Whole foods has made it into our conversations one way or another, speaking on behalf of the expense that Whole Foods has decided to decrease for their buyers to be more competitive to the more commonly visited grocery stores such as Wal-Mart and Kroger, or their involvement with Amazon Prime and it’s members to better deliver fresh, wholesome ingredients where ever you need it. Unlike most grocery stores, Whole Foods also provides many prepared lunches and dinners that you can taste test and pay by the pound, and most locations have a burger bar, wine bar, dessert bar and sushi bar. According to Kirk Hensler, internet blogger for “Kale & Cigarettes,” he doesn’t “shop at Whole Foods because spending money there makes [him] feel relevant; [He] shops there because they have the best selection of fresh and healthy food in [his] neighborhood,” which he then continues to inform his readers on the expense that he was facing monthly and his need for finding a solution to not only continue his healthy lifestyle, but avoid the financial problems that were continuing to build. Everything is prepared by Whole Foods and is clearly labeled for people to know the ingredients, but consumers are not provided with the list of how many oils, fats, or salts are added into their recipes. The rise of a health movement is increasing and informing people on high protein grains like quinoa, decreasing the amount of red meats and replacing them for fish, and the proper definition of a healthy fats such as avocado. Rather than grabbing a meal that has no expiration date lying under heat lamps at a gas station, people are more familiar with the ingredients they put into their bodies, or at least they assume with the overuse vocabulary of organic, non-GMO, and gluten free labels to reach the satisfaction and trust of the buyers.
