“The Gospel For Those Broken By The Church” by Dr. Rod Rosenbladt Rod Rosenbladt paints a fantastic picture in his presentation “The Gospel For Those Broken By The Church.” He discusses how the church can often push people away from the Gospel, and, by extension, God. He explains how pastors push people away from Christianity and why many of the “alumni of the Christian faith” are feeling how they do: why some of them feel angry, and why some others feel sad about the Christian faith. Rosenbladt’s presentation, in many ways, mirrors Paul's presentation of the Gospel in the first eight chapters of his letter to the Romans. In said letters, Paul explains how we are all God’s apostles, how we try to uphold the law, and even though we fail
Beyond the Curse stands as an uplifting exposition of the surrender and self-sacrifice of Christ. This compelling book issues a timely call to action that every Christian should heed: walk on God’s path and live beyond the curse. The focus of the author’s teaching and reflection is Galatians 3:13-14, which
An individual’s spiritual discipline and his or her theological and biblical foundations are essential
After thoroughly reading Deuteronomy 32:45-47, Romans 10:17, Matthew 4:4, and Jeremiah 15:16, I have a better understanding of spiritual food. I noticed that in all four of the passages, it talks about the words of Christ. The words of Christ are found within the Bible in Scripture. In order for us to be spiritually alive, we have to take the words of the Lord, whether it be straight from our Bible or second hand from someone else, and break them down as they are our food. You break them apart by digging deeper into the meaning behind the verses not just focusing on what they are saying.
(Towner, p.160) The Spirit supplies power, love and self-discipline. (2 Tim. 1:7) “Timothy was in need of recalling and appropriating all that the Holy Spirit makes available to believers." (Towner, p.161)
Christianity spread against a global superpower. Christianity started 2,000 years ago in Israel with Jesus and his teachings. His teachings spread throughout the world and were written into the Bible. Why did Christianity spread thousands of years ago? Christianity took hold of the ancient world through the messages of Christianity, the promise of immortality, and the ways religion spread worldwide.
Chapter 2 highlights that worship and knowledge should be an important part of all Christians’ lives. Worship
Galatians 5:13-25 was meaningful to me because it described what freedom was meant for. We were given the freedom to do whatever we want, but humans often make bad choices. This passage is about how the Holy Spirit can help us resist the temptations of being human beings. This spoke to me because the Holy Spirit is like a helper and supporter in our lives. It guides us when we are lost and as a human, I am often lost and turn to God for help.
What made Protestantism so successful was that it was created in a time where all religious rituals were in Latin making it very unlikely for the public to understand their priests. Since the protestant religion allowed for a better understanding of their religious views due to their translations of the bible appealed to many peasants who were uneducated and did not speak Latin. The participants also did not have to pay indulgences since the main protestant belief is that salvation is found through faith alone. This allowed for a broader audience who did not have much wealth. What also made the church appealing is that the church allowed for singing in unison which also appealed to the general public.
Christianity is the most popular religion in the world with a total of 2.4 billion followers. With this many people following one religion it is evitable for there to be a difference in opinions on topics within their religion. These differences became evident in 1517 with Martin Luther. Martin wanted to open a discussion though to the Catholics this meant war. Though how did they form this war and why?
A much more brief description of spiritual desires (understanding, knowledge, and peace of mind) shown through the actions of Jesus. The Juxtapose patterns found in the stanzas and refrains help to show the difference in thought towards the two, or as some would see it, the weaknesses of man. The desires of flesh and the desires for possession have always been strong in men; they
The reference to the Sabbath indicate the Jewish lifestyle. The Sabbath and ceremonies distinguish the Jews from others. Paul believes that Christians are not under this same law. Paul also addresses this in Romans and Galatians about Christian’s liberty. In Roman’s 15:5-6, Paul writes, “May the God of steadfastness and encouragement grant you to live in harmony with one another, in accordance with Christ Jesus, so that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
During the Age of Enlightenment, the philosophers had many ideas to make for a strong society. These suggestions helped change our everyday lifestyle into what it is today. The main ideas were to have religious freedom, individual rights, economic rights, and equality of women's education. These rights were the philosophers’ most crucial ideas because they were the basic rule structure that the society needed to grow and become a superior place. The philosophers strive to make these ideas a reality for the better of the world.
The religion of Greek society is a significant part of the Greek civilization and 98% are Christians. The third leading division of Christianity is the Orthodox Church traditions, with the Roman Catholics first and the Protestants second. A huge part of the Orthodox organization is the countries of Greece and Russia. In 49 AD, St. Paul was the first founder to speak about Christianity. Orthodox Christian members in North America are approximately 2 to 3 million and some estimate the world population is between 200 to 300 million.
In her book “ A perfect Mess”, she shines light on how the bible connects to modern life. She goes about telling her experiences that exemplify how in “not so great” moments, God sees his child in need of his perfect love. In the article “ How Should I Live Life as a Christian Teen?” written by Catiana Nak Kheiyn, she discusses how even though we face hardships, God is on our side guiding us through it all. The article and the book both mention how we can get caught up in the false perceptions of Christianity. As a Christian, a man made list of do’s and dont’s does not exist.
