Synthesis Essay The United States Postal Office has been delivering mail since 1691 but with technology advancing many are questioning whether or not the USPS should cut back on delivery days. People are choosing to write emails or send texts instead of write letters. The number of USPS deliveries is exponentially decreasing each year, along with the number of employees. Some say that the USPS has advantages such as providing jobs, it is cheaper than other delivery services, and it provides people who are not tech savvy a way to deliver packages as well as letters.
The United States Postal Service has been used for many years, sending mail far and near. It is still being used today. Dating back to the colonial times of America, mail was delivered by the Pony Express, today mail is being sent by cars, airplanes, and ships. Our country is long overdue for restructuring the USPS. The USPS should be restructured so they can gain revenue, still have convenience, and to keep up to date with developing technology.
This shows that since the railroads were improving, and becoming easier to get mail through. So, why not come up with an easier way for farm families to get the things they need? The lack of the jobs will not only impact the business, but the U.S. economy as well. In order to enhance the U.S. Postal Service’s business, they can have delivery for seven days a week.

The mail volume has been decreasing since 2007. Clearly, this shows a need to make changes to the USPS, an institution on the decline.
