Some portion of the learners who come from diverse & vulnerable backgrounds lack basic Numeracy, literacy and other social skills. This does not end here, over the period of time if these factors are not addressed, learners will have low self-esteem and confidence. So it is very important that as the teachers of tomorrow we do not neglect this part of the teaching because underlying factors can hamper the learner progress to a large extent.
Another piece of advice shared with my peers was on the subject of Assessment, I believe that Assessments ought to uncover how well learners have learnt the subject and impact on their overall progress. Collaborative learning was upgraded by the use of technology, processes and individuals. Learners were empowered to work together in their own particular settings and situations to influence and expand on their learning. This not only gives certain amount of autonomy to the learners but creates a space for retention. I believe that my peers will benefit from this best practice of Collaborative teaching because it is an instructional method in which students team together on an assignment. Integrating teamwork into a course can result in adding structure to out-of-class time and increasing student accountability for their learning. This will have an enormous impact on students learning because learners will feel more motivated and valued. It is well noted that motivated students learn and achieve better results as compared to those who are not made accountable and involved in the teaching cycle. Apart from this I feel behaviour management techniques such as pre-empting difficult situations ,regular praise and constructive feedback carved in my lesson planning can have a positive impact on their learners too because effective classroom management skills techniques eventually lead to successful pupil learning . All the best practices stated above if implemented by peers will add a new dimension to their teaching practice .It will benefit the learners in terms of getting quality teaching content through open and reflective approaches peers have undergone through.
