Legalizing Marijuana

Do you smoke marijuana or as others call it, weed? If so do YOU think that it should be legal? If weapons and alcohol are legal then marijuana should be too. Some say that marijuana influences people to harm themselves and others. It is bogus and scientific studies have the information to prove it.

Marijuana is a harmless drug. People use it just to help them have more fun in their lives. Other people use it for medical reasons, so there is no real problem with it. There are people that use marijuana almost daily and they still have the same actions as they were before they started using the drug. Yes, it slows down your concentration but, it does not effect every user the same way. Some people are able to concentrate more while under the influence of marijuana.

Since the Act of 1970 took place marijuana was classified to be a schedule I drug. It was considered to have no “accepted medical use in treatment in the United States” (Eddy 2010). Twenty-three states and the District of Columbia have legalized marijuana for medical uses. Some people use it just to feel happy or to heighten their day. Other people use it for medical reasoning. The doctors prescribes marijuana for things like; Depression, anxiety that is occurred from terrifying life events, Bi-polar disorder, Psychiatric disorder and mostly glaucoma and to heighten patients appetites for the ones who suffer from anorexia. It has been proven that marijuana leads to FEWER suicides among the young adult males. In Denver, Colorado the crime rates have dropped since marijuana has been legalized. In the years 2013-2014 and January-April the violent crimes such as robbery have dropped by 80% and in the same months and years there has been a massive decrease in property
