In today’s world, drugs are a big problem, especially with teens. Just because some drugs are “legal” in some states, doesn’t make it right. Schools are debating on whether they should do random drug tests on students, especially athletes. Schools should do random drug tests because it can possibly help kids find counseling, catches cheaters using illegal drugs in sports, and help students have a successful future. Kids can get into drugs at a very young age. There is so much corruption in today's world that why wouldn’t teens give into peer pressure? That's why we need to test children and find them help. Counseling is a great way to find teens help and to stay away from drugs. Schools hope random testing will serve as a deterrent and give students a reason to resist peer pressure to take drugs. Research has found that students who test positive are sometimes suspended or expelled from school, and may not get help for their drug issues. Counseling is seriously needed if teens are not getting help from anyone, that’s why we need to give it to them. …show more content…

Drugs are a serious problem in sports, kids can use steroids to help them win in sports and it needs to stop. If schools did random drug test then our problem would be solved, this would also benefit the athletes future and career. There is another problem, cheating the system. Students who want to “cheat” the test may bring in someone else’s urine or turn to other drugs, alcohol or synthetic marijuana that will not show up on the test. The solution is random drug tests like these, so the school board can randomly test a student or athlete on the spot so we can have the most truthful
