Everybody’s process in writing an essay is a little different. Some people start early, and some start late. Some write many drafts while others write only one or two. Some people don't have people read their essays for proofreading and others do it every time. We all have different creative ways of doing our essays and stories. In this essay I am going to explain the reasoning behind my process and why it works for me. The Mighty Pen The pen is mightier than the sword. Writing has been the center of many things over the ages. It has been fought over and scrutinized. It has started wars and ended them. It has given life and it has taken life. This step normally only takes me a couple of hours to write down. The longest part for me is not the writing part, unlike most papers that people write where the writing is the longest and most painful part. For me, because of the preparation that I have done in the first three steps, this is the most enjoyable step for me. I love seeing the ideas that were in my head come out on paper. Doing things, the way I have done them up to this point allows me to flush out my idea and organize the way I want. This is my first draft of my paper. After I have spent time writing my essay and it is written and completed I take a break from writing. I stop thinking about the paper completely. I do this only for a day or two. Long enough so that my mind is no longer on the topic of the paper. This allows me to relax and clear my head. This helps me because when I come back to the paper in the next step I am looking at it through new eyes and I have a new take on my paper and I often see things that I didn’t catch before.
