may ask what is the Divine 9, well, the Divine 9 are 9 black fraternities and sororities, all or if not most of these organizations can be found at nearly every College or University there is. The Divine 9 consists of Alpha Phi Alpha, Alpha Kappa Alpha, Kappa Alpha Psi, Omega Psi Phi, Delta Sigma Theta, Phi Beta Sigma, Zeta Phi Beta, Sigma Gamma Rho, and Iota Phi Theta. These organizations help build and create sister and brotherhood. People spend hundreds of thousands of dollars just in their first
“Sisters” to most people would mean girls who share the same parents, but with sorority girls, “sisters” are the members in your sorority who share a bond between each and every one of them. I am a member of Delta Zeta sorority, I joined at the University of West Georgia but still feel the bond between me and my sorority sisters. Sisterhood means the world to the girls in sororities and it is an extraordinary thing to behold despite the fact that it may mean something else entirely to everyone else
Reflecting on my reasoning on why I wanted to become a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated I knew that I had to speak on all of the women who have instilled some type of morals and values that A Delta woman holds. It was the way they walked, talked, and cared for me like their own and their ability to be selfless. Seeing the way these women have made others and myself feel was convincing enough for me to be sold on my decision to take this path. Sisterhood is key within the women
Why do I want to be a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority incorporated? Since I was a little girl I had grown up on the expectation that once I got to college I would pursue joining the organization Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority incorporated. Because this was instilled in me since I could really talk I never really question the idea. But once I got to college I began to truly question why I wanted to be a member. Therefore, I began to do my research four things have stuck out to me so far. These four
think about my potential contributions in scientific discovery and how they would be used to enhance mankind’s understanding of our surroundings. These thoughts are the force behind my reason to major in chemistry, and I believe receiving the Alpha Delta Kappa Scholarship will aid in this endeavor. Chemistry, along with its subtopics, is a wonderful major to select if one wishes to unmask the truth behind some of the most dynamic questions in the scientific community. My fascination in this field
For the unity of brothers to give consent on actually taking part in the actions of being discreet for a large consumption of time is a true illustration of what it means to be Kappa Alpha Psi Inc. Discreet: careful and circumspect in one's speech or actions, especially in order to avoid causing offense or to gain an advantage. The advantage we gain is brotherhood, loyalty, respect and love for another as we becomes brothers over time. I pledge to always to be my brothers’ keepers and to always remain
Andrew Young Jr.: One of the Many Spiritual Leaders of The Civil Rights Movement When I think about the civil rights movement a few prominent names come to mind, Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, and Malcom X. These highly influential people and many like them have served as the faces of the movement, but it is important to understand that the movement was a culmination of the works of many. Rooted in the spirituality of African-Americans, the civil rights movement called upon the entire community
after grading myself I seen that I have great attributes of being a good leader however I still have room for improvement with leading. C. As of the 2016 -2017 school year, I currently serve as President/ Polemarch of my Fraternity well known as Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated. We are a divine 9 Greek organization and I became a member last school year in the spring semester of 2016. Being president of my organization here at ship is in equivalence to being a leader amongst my brothers and
Inequality and racism have always been present in the history of America. Many people battle these injustices through different forms, such as writing, speaking, or protesting. Martin Luther King, Jr., and Frederick Douglass are both experienced in writing and speaking against certain injustices. In Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “Letter From a Birmingham Jail,” as well as in Frederick Douglass’s “What to the Slave, is the Fourth of July?” they claim that injustice and inequality must be combatted in
Recently, I graduated from Indiana State University in May 2016 with a Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management. I completed the degree in three years; while interning at least 30 hours per week and being a part of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. As part of the Fraternity, I held the Health and Safety Chair and Sergeant-at-Arms positions. Commonplace amongst both positions was the welfare of fellow Fraternity members. We often conducted philanthropy events such as Change for Change and Fire Truck Pull benefiting
But what they don’t know is the unforgettable lessons and benefits that it could teach you. Alpha Kappa Delta Phi sorority Inc. taught me so much about myself in all angles. The five pillars- sisterhood, scholarship, service, leadership and Asian Awareness- resonated within me, but it was the strong passion of all my sisters for each of these pillars
What do you consider living or nonliving. Scientist have been trying to categorize everything in two categories living and nonliving. Some things are easy to identify such as a rock or an animal everyone knows which is living. But sometimes it’s not that easy to identify, like in the case of viruses. Are viruses living or nonliving? That is a question that has brought a lot of terrifying debates. There is no precise definition of what separates the living from the non-living. But for many reason I
The Uncertainty principle In 1927, Werner Heisenberg was working at Bohr’s research institute in Copenhagen, Denmark. Neil Bohr and Heisenberg were working closely together on theoretical investigations of quantum theory and nature of physics. Heisenberg was left back at the centre alone when Bohr was away skiing. At this point, Heisenberg realized the limits of physics and physical reality. He realized that it in the act of observing, the observer somehow, manages to alter the reality. This observation

Biodiversity is simply defined as the number and variability of organisms within a defined area. The amount of biodiversity that is present can help to define an area’s richness and productivity. Several factors that help an influence over biodiversity include climate, an area’s isolation, the vegetation structure, and size of the area. Generally, there are more organisms in a warm and moist environment and biodiversity will decline as the climate moves away from the ideal range of conditions. Isolation
Scientific Reliability and Validity Scientific reliability can be defined as the degree to which a measurement produces consistency. As understood by Branson (2014) a measurement that is found to be stable in the same setting and with the same sample size can be considered reliable. Thus, further meaning that any device that gives the same repeated results under the same conditions is reliable. Such an example is often demonstrated by the weighing scale, which sometimes lack validity but still produce
It’s what nearly everyone wants: a dazzling white smile so shiny it can cause a traffic accident. Seen all over the place from TV shows to fashion models, to celebrities and world leaders, it seems that a white smile is an indicator of success, glamour, and prestige. Yet a white smile is notoriously difficult to come by at the best of times, and many people have dedicated a lot of time and effort in finding new ways to secure a whiter, cleaner smile. Tooth whitening is basically the process by
