Explain how your materials, planned supports, and instructional strategies facilitated the focus learner’s progress toward the lesson objective(s) for the learning goal and how they reflected the learner’s development, age, strengths, and needs.
[ The materials that were being used included the magnets and magnet circles, these materials aided Peter with the repeated addition and equal group methods for completing multiplication problems. This will get him ready for post graduation work placements because many jobs require employees to work with some numbers and addition forms. This reflects Peter's development because it shows how well Peter follows directions and I can see if/ how he problem solves throughout the course of the lesson. When facilitating the instructional strategies, I used whole group instruction and independent activity instructions for this lesson. Having whole group instruction helps Peter’s development because he is learning independently as well as with the help of his peer partner, Michael. Peter often watches his classmates, this problem solving method helps Peter to figure out what he needs to do. Whole group instruction reflects Peters age because as the teacher, I can see how he responds to certain situations both independently and with his peers; if one of his peers comes up to him and starts talking to him about what they did that weekend, I would see how Peter responds, whether that is him reciprocating the gesture or completely ignoring the individual. Additionally, this reflects Peter’s strengths because I can see where his social cues are at. During the whole-group instruction, Michael helped Peter prepare his magnet circles for the problem 4x5; during this time Peter was able to visually see how Michael was using the numbers in the problem to
