By Marcelo In society people tend to make thing up in order to achieve a certain outcome. Sometimes it is to hurt, sometimes it is to heal, yet through this people change. In the play much ado about nothing the author William Shakespeare utilises character development to suggest the idea that people can change depending on the influence of others, the information given as well as their desire to change.

At the start Benedick given information that Beatrice loves him, this influences him to change and to love Beatrice in return. Afterwards Benedick is disappointed when she says she does not love him, but then when it is proven that she does indeed love him he rejoices. As a result he kiss her. Which lends to them marrying. Because of this he exclaims “a miracle here are our own hands against our hearts. Come, I will have but by this light I take thee for pity”. During this event Benedick changes because of the information given as well as his will to change to love Beatrice. He says he will not be friends with Claudio or Don Pedro. Consequently he challenges Claudio. Later says he will leave Don Pedro’s court.
