As the battles continued, Abraham Lincoln was reelected as President. It’s so great, you wish you walked 100 miles to see it. As the 16th President of the United States of America, Abraham Lincoln was reelected on November 8, 1864. Lincoln has beaten the Democratic candidate, George B. McCLellan. Abraham Lincoln dominated the debate, by 191 electoral votes and 408,428 popular votes. It was an outstanding race, but President A. Lincoln won with 212 electoral votes and 2,213,665 popular votes. George B. McCLellan lost with 21 electoral votes and 1,805,237 popular votes. Lincoln faced many challenges getting to this point. We as the north, can all agree that he was starting to go down the drain. Soon after he became very successful and we gave him what he deserved, four more years as president. He had signed the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863 which was supposed to free the slaves in the Confederate states. Although the Confederates did not listen because they have no common sense and they thought that Abraham Lincoln is not their president. They thought that Jefferson Davis was their leader.
