Classroom Learners
Throughout this paper, I will be teaching a third grade classroom, which majority of the student are eight or nine years old. Majority of students at this age struggle to organize their thought process, understand and conduct abstract and complex concepts within my classroom. My students are beginning to idolize friendships and social interaction both inside and outside of the classroom. The aspect of responsibility and independence is growing tremendously for every student throughout hands on exploration, interaction and creation. My students are not only taking accountability and interest for their actions but their learning as well. Seek and value students’ points of view
Within a traditional classroom students are geared to answer a question a certain way with only one correct answer. However, in the constructivist classroom teachers should be asking open-ended questions that result in a plethora of answers. By providing these types of discussions students are able to explain their point of view or understanding throughout explanation and support.
4. Adapt instruction to address student suppositions:
Within a constructivist classroom, the teacher is the facilitator for all aspects of the child learning experience. Just as every student learns differently, the material should be adapted and meet every child’s needs. Teachers should be willing to adapt there teaching methods and curriculum topics in order for the class and student to reach success.
5. Assess student learning in the context of teaching:
Within the constructivist classroom, the teacher must assess student learning in thee context of teaching. Traditionally educators assess children to see how well or inadequately a student is doing on a concept resulting in a letter grade. Educators should be assessing their students in the context to determine how to assist the child for a better
