For my first source, I chose an article I found on EBSCO. The title is what grabbed me. It corroborates my focus how a high fat diet is beneficial. His extensive history of working as a nurse and the fact that he written many journal articles on health and nutrition gives me confidence in his knowledge. The author is Alan Glasper, he is an Emeritus Professor at the University of Southampton, UK. His career as a nurse began in 1968. Appointed as the Foundation Professor of Nursing at The University of Southampton in 1991. He is now the editor in chief of Issues in Comprehensive Pediatric Nursing. Over the years Mr. Glasper has authored many journal entries; his comprehensive research continues to gain attention in the medical field.

The Controversial New Dietary Advice For The UK Population” reports controversial advice that challenges the norm of the medical establishment. The National Obesity Forum (NOF) has come out with a new position of increasing fats, reducing carbohydrates to reverse obesity and Type 2 Diabetes. The rate of obesity in the UK is 25%. Diabetes has increased by 65% over the last ten years. The cost of managing diabetes runs about 16 billion a year. The NOF believes the low-fat plan, proposed for healthy eating does more harm than good. The weight management trials have consistently shown the higher fat diets have better results than the low-fat options. NOF’s publications have the media speculating of the danger of following a low-fat eating plan. It is my belief that the NOF is on the right
