Ineffective Animal Testing Majority of animals have their fate decided at birth. Animal testing is questionable to the reassurance of absolute safety. Animals and humans react differently to types of drugs and chemicals. Cats, dogs, guinea pigs, hamsters, birds, etc. are the type of animals being manipulated. Animal testing has alternatives that help economically and effectively.
Animal testing is cruel, unjust, and wasteful, and it needs to stop. It is used to test cosmetics, to gain scientific knowledge, and for tests in schools. The Humane Society states that animal testing is tests performed on live animals for basic biology, medicinal, safety, or health research. Even small procedures have the capabilities to cause the animal high stress or discomfort. Some animals are used in future experiments, but most are killed soon after the tests.
When you think of the ideal life of a dog what do you think? Most would imagine a dog would like a loving family, long walks, and the occasional dog treat. Do you imagine them living in cold cage inside of a dark laboratory with no hope of escape? Or being tortured on a daily basis with no love, never feeling the grass under their paws or seeing the sunlight? Doomed and born to die?
Animal testing has been around for a long time. Animal testing is also known as animal experimentation, it's when scientist test their studies on animals before they perform it on humans. I believe animal testing should be stopped. The reason why i believe we should stop animal testing is because it's not fair that the animal have to sacrifice their lives just so we can test our experiments. Animal testing has been done on a lot of animals, for example mice, chimps, reptiles, and so on.
Animal experimentation has been happening for hundreds of years, ever since the mid 19th century. The world is filled with millions of animals that can be tested on. While experiments are still being done on animals, that will possibly change the near future. With all the technological advancements a machine was created that replicates important human tissues and even organs. Since not all laboratories are using that kind of technology, a wide range of animals are still being tested on.
Experimenting on animals is not an issue that blossomed recently, it has been going on for years. Most of the new discoveries whether they are related to cosmetics or medicine or even household products have been due to the research on animals. The question should be: “why should animals suffer for something that humans need?” However, is everyone okay with that, or are people objecting the process of experimenting on animals? According to The Guardian, the people’s opposition to this torture has been growing over the years.
Animal Testing Is it not full entitlement to give everyone and everything equal rights? Some think that animals do not matter as much as animal activists say they do, and that they were only put on this planet for our amusement and for our own types of studies, but that is not the case. Animals are equals because they have a heartbeat and emotions, and someone somewhere cares about them. Modern alternatives have repeatedly been shown to teach better, save time, and save schools money. Most tests that companies perform are NOT law required and products can still be marketed if the animal they test on dies.
Every year cosmetic companies in the United states kill millions of animals while testing their products. (Point: the fight for animal rights ) According to the British Union for abolition of vivisection, common uses of laboratory animals include testing for toxicity, brain research, dental research, and surgical experiments ( Cruel Beauty). Animals have rights that we are obligated to acknowledge. They have the right to autonomy and, by extension, the rights to freedom from exploitation and freedom from suffering.
Down a long and narrow hall, animal cages line either side of the walls. They are small cages that couldn’t possibly be spacious enough or comfortable for the terrified animals that are trapped inside. Across the room on a desk a bunny crouches, shaking, as drain cleaner is dropped into its eye as part of a Draize eye irritancy test. Without a doubt, the advancement in the medical field in the current generation is truly remarkable. It has come a long way as many cures have been developed in order to treat complex illnesses. Besides that, the advancement of modern medication has brought a great advantage to not only human beings but also to other living creatures such as animals and plants. For these reasons, animals should not be used in research or to test the safety of human products. To begin with, animal testing is cruel, inhumane and it violates animals’ rights. The USDA reported that in 2016, 71,370 animals suffered pain during experiments while being given no anesthesia at all for relief.
Imagine an enraged animal rights activist charging toward a scientist in a white lab coat, desperate to free the little mice that are being used as test subjects.
