In her article, Marie Bjerede investigates the advantages and disadvantages of a standardized education system. She focuses her study on standardized path of learning, curriculums, assessments, expectations, and other factors. As she presents two sides of each issue, Bjerede provides her readers with a conclusion for each issue based on her opinion. Although she gives her opinion on specific issues of standardized education, she stays neutral on the overall topic.

It explores the views of the supporters and opponents of the topic. Although it has more emphasis on that topic, Chen adds in some impacts of standardized tests. She explains why these types of tests are not effective in evaluating students and that they may need many changes.
The source provides readers with another angle of looking at standardized education, along with the central issue which also makes it useful in answering my question. Looking at the main topic discussed in the blog, the source can be considered somewhat persuasive and biased.

This is why I chose to use this editorial as a source. The editorial is persuasive and somewhat biased. I think that the source will help anyone in answering my question because it provides some facts and it is an opinion at the same time.

In her blog post, Gandy presents some of the reasons why standardized testing is a good tool. She addresses the benefits of the test results and also uses test data to support her views. She includes her personal experience as a school student, along with her experience as a parent of a school student in her post as an example.
I chose Gandy’s blog post as a source because it is mostly opinion-based. I also chose the source because she gives the opposers of standardized education a different perspective by stating that maybe children do not have problems with the testing, but the adults do. This source will provide a different, not-factual view for someone who would be responding to my question. This makes the source persuasive and
