Standardized testing is a very well known topic for a lot of people. Many people believe they are helpful to measure students intelligence and academic performance.
Just as many people believe it is unfair, stressful, and affects the school and state as a whole. Standardized testing is an unfair approach to measure each student’s academic performance; and is something we should get rid of.
Standardized testing is unfair because teachers tend to focus on teaching what’s known to be on the test. Now a days we are just taught information that will only help us pass the test; we don’t actually learn information that may be useful for everyday life.

For example, there are foreign kids who have to take these test too, and they may have more trouble understanding the questions. Therefore, standardized testing is unfair and may just create unnecessary stress for the students and teachers.
Standardized testing is also stressful because with SATs many colleges base students academic performance and acceptance on their scores; and this stresses many students out because they know if they score poorly it will affect them in the long run trying to get into their dream college. Teachers also get stressed with standardized testing because the scores the students get reflect back on the teacher. So if a teacher has many students who got poor test scores the school district may take a closer look into the way the teacher teaches because they might think the low test scores are because of the teachers teaching methods; this can even jeopardize a teacher’s job.
Also no one ever knows exactly what is going to be on the test. Which means the students don’t have the right resources to study for these test, and the teachers don’t have the right resources to fully teach and prepare the students for the tests. Therefore, standardized testing creates unnecessary stress for both the students and
