I am applying for the Assistant Director of College and Career Readiness position open in your district. I am currently a computer teacher at Bonney Lake High School in the Sumner School District and also participating as a Career and Technical Education Director Intern. I teach many different CTE classes in the Business, Marketing and IT department, varying from Financial Math to AP Computer Science. I currently have secondary and vocational teaching certification as well as principal and program administrator certification.
I am completing my Internship with the College and Career Readiness Director in the Sumner School District. I have worked to expand my leadership skills at the district level in budgeting, leadership, project management and application of Career and Technical Education (CTE) initiatives, aligning frameworks, connecting with Middle School programs, Advisory Committees and Technology Initiatives. I have facilitated the development of program plans of study, in fulfillment of Perkin’s requirements, and currently working on program pathways. We are revising our course offerings and sequencing through a SREB audit completed last year. Suggested program changes and new program implementations are being evaluated against Pierce and King County Workforce data and job growth projections. Staff certifications, trainings and curriculum development needs are currently being assessed for implementation.
