Gun control is one of the hottest issues that has been around for decades in the Uniteds States and all around the world, especially in the wake of many tragic shootings. Even though firearms have been legal in the United States for a long time, now is the time we need to revise this law. One reason why the government should restrict the availability of guns is because the Second Amendment is not an unlimited right to own guns. This amendment was intended to protect the right of militias to own guns, not the right of individuals. Moreover, guns should be under control in order to reduce gun violence and gun crimes. Criminals are dangerous, and it would be horrible when they use guns. Enacting the gun control also helps to decrease the quantity of gun deaths. Therefore, this is when we need a stricter regulation which includes an outright limit on firearms.

One example is a tragic shooting at Connecticut on December 14, 2012, which is known as “The Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting”, when 20-year-old Adam Lanza shot 20 children aged between 6 and 7 years old, as well as six adult staff members. He also shot and killed his mother at their house in Newton, he finally committed suicide by shooting himself in the head. This is just one of a lots tragic shootings in the America, and those incidents arlert the dangerous when guns can be in anyone’s hands. In order words, guns should be keep out of the hands of criminals to reduce and prevent crimes. Gun control can decrease the rate of crimes. There is a testament for this statement that in Detroit, Chicago, and Washington D.C, where have tougher guns laws than other places, have low gun murder rates and worse crimes stats due to its strict gun laws. Thus, more gun control is needed in other parts of our country in order to take guns away from criminals to decrease gun violence rates, and it will also help to reduce the number of gun
