According to the Second Amendment in the Constitution, the citizens have the right to possess and bear arms. However, this has remained an important issue since decades. Issues such as gun control and gun rights have remained a matter of debate and have been lobbying around in the Congress meetings. It has been shown that the Congress is compelled to draft a particular enactment keeping in mind the end goal to prepare a strict law against unlawful utilization of arms, and just having them for a good reason. The following paper explains gun control and gun rights in the United States of America.

Firearms are classified into three broad types: handguns, rifles, and shotguns. Rifles and shotguns are both considered “long guns.” A semi-automatic weapon fires one bullet each time the user pulls the trigger, it also will eject the empty shell after it is fired, and will automatically load another round into the gun. Studies have shown that locations where guns have been outlawed and neighborhood burglaries increased. The people of America cannot rely on the police to prevent crime. The police do not arrive before a crime has been committed, they arrive after. If a murderer does not have a gun, but he/she wants to kill someone, he/she will find something else to complete the task. It does not matter if it is a pencil, a car, or whatever. The government is trying to stop evil that we cannot prevent. 2.5 million people used their guns in self-defense or to prevent crime each year, often by simply displaying a weapon.(The Truth about Guns and Self-defense.)
