Damaged organ, or tissues due to diseases is really common. Hospitals and clinics from all around the world, welcomes more and more of patients affected by those disease. Right now the only treatment is organ transplantation, but scientists are researching on a new cure, based on stem cells. For more than 30 years according to “Frequently Asked Questions” scientist were experimenting, and testing the potential use of stem cells, to come up with a new way to treat those disease and repair the tissues or organs. Stem cell treatment may be a new potential way of regenerating damaged tissues and organs.
The best use of stem cells is probably the “generation of cells or tissues that could be used for cell-based-therapies”(“Frequently Asked Questions”).

An adult stem cell can renew it self or become a new type of cell, and it’s role in the body is to repair and maintain the tissues according to “Stem Cells Research”. An adult stem cell will stay in the same region in the human body, stationary, until a disease activates them. They are capable to divide themselves into any new cells, because they are pluripotent that can either stay a stem cell, or “become another type of cell with a more specialized function, such as a muscle cell, a red blood cell, or a brain cell”.
