In schools across the world, children learn that, despite rampant injustice committed by a few, there is still good in the honorable majority of mankind and the promise of righteousness under the law. These children mature idolizing both superheroes in society and those existing on the big screen, teaching that right will trump wrong and that good will prevail over evil. Unfortunately, however, this is not an all-encompassing theme outside of the fictional realm. In Louise Erdrich’s The Round House, Geraldine Coutts, a rape victim on a Native American reservation, finds only injustice in the very judicial system that sought to protect her.
He understands that he has role to play and play he shall to make sure that he is able to keep being Batman. Then as Batman he is expected to be the person that can instill great fear in to anyone. He uses that to his advantage; if he is able to scare off criminals from an area just by having his presence in the area. It is one less fight that he has to deal with that night. As the two begin roll in the business of crime fighting and locking up criminals, a madman known only by the name of Joker begins playing with the city of Gotham for his entertainment.
However, the most intriguing topic concerning Batman’s mental stability was the evaluation of Batman’s love life. Batman has fallen in love but he lives a life of mystery and interacts with a false identity. To keep Gotham citizens unaware that Batman is Bruce Wayne, Bruce wears a bat-suit which is a dark outfit that includes a night bat-like mask while fighting crime. To further conceal his identity from the world, Bruce gave his real name an alter-ego that has the personality of a wealthy playboy while he acts out his true identity as Batman. Thus, Batman is unable to maintain a romantic relationship with anyone due to intimacy and his alter-ego, regardless if Batman wants a love life or not.
The Dark Knight Returns proposes that vigilantism is not only a preferable course of action in light of civil indifference, it is the correct choice. I agree with this statement, as the public display of vigilant justice portrayed by Batman ultimately shows hope and confidence in the civilians. In contrast to the typical hero figures, Batman is more aggressive and violent in order to get the job done and pursue his needs. This reinforces the idea of standing up to what the individual thinks is right, the power to fight back against the broken system and the assailants. I have never been one to start fights one to get in trouble. I am always the mediator or arbitrator and try to persuade my friends to stay out of trouble. Being a villain would be new to me. The one thing that I could say about me that relates to a villain is that I think I am misunderstood by many people. There are many villains that I believe are misunderstood and it is the hero who may be the actual villain who tries to destroy the villain just because the villain is misunderstood and different.
Through crime rates, and attempts to combat them, this pseudo vigilantism has created more violence than ever before. The belief that vigilantism is justifiable becomes reinforced by pop culture, through Batman, Dexter and Died Hard. The fact that there are more criminals the police officers, and more crimes than the system can handle, persists in the human conscious. Pseudo vigilantism also finds a clash, between actual police and civilian vigilantes. In Seattle, Phoenix Jones dresses up in black tights and dons a red mask to protect his city, but Jones is routinely arrested and has even gone to trial for assault (Moore, 2009).
Batman (Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises) By far the most recognizable cinematic vigilante, Batman needs little introduction. Unlike colleague superheroes, this Guardian of Gotham City doesn’t possess any superpowers. So he relies primarily on intellect, strong will and innumerable skills, as well as on substantial wealth. Justice is served using cutting-edge technology capable of frightening even the nastiest of enemies.
Superhero comics contain many conventions such as morals, a motive, extraordinary superpowers, a back story, and so on. Batman and Superman are a couple of superheroes from a wide variety of superhero comics. Both of them try to protect mankind from any hurt, harm, or danger that may come. A similarity between both of these superheroes is that they want justice in the world. With so much crime and torture going on in the world, mankind looks for a higher power to help stop it.
Criminals are meant to fear even the sight of the Bat symbol. The Joker threatens this very idea, as if Batman takes off his mask is becomes human. Not only that, but this would end his reign as a vigilante, he would be arrested. Nolan uses this theme to show the audience the ultimate answer to vigilante justice. Nolan’s work is an example of extreme realism.
Super-Soldiers When individuals ponder the word “hero,” they might think of their personal hero, maybe someone in their family. Perhaps they think of descriptions of a heroic figure, such as courage or power, but in the back of everyone’s mind is a comic book. People read about superheroes for entertainment every day, but what they do not realize is the fiction that engages them, is actually reality.

He is no longer the perfect model superhero from the 50’s who is a crime fighting genius in the city of Gotham, he is dark and mysterious and the emotional effects make him hugely relatable. We learn that although he is somewhat different to us with his physical strength and superhero persona but his feelings and emotions and changing personality is human.
