Biblical astronomy forces scientists to answer three important questions. Number one: How did the universe get here? Evolutionists say that a Big Bang exploded, and this explosion just happened to turn into our universe. There are scientific, and Scriptural problems with the Big Bang Theory. One major scientific trouble lies in the fact that the universe is perfectly balanced. Too much matter in space would make everything too heavy, and the universe would collapse. On the other hand, not enough matter in the universe would make everything too light, and it would “fly apart”. (Lisle, 2010) An explosion like the Big Bang would not have created the perfect balance we have today, in fact, it would have destroyed it. The Scriptural problems with this hypothesis should be self -evident. There is no such thing as a “Big Bang” in the Bible! God spoke, and everything was created. That is the Biblical explanation for the existence of the universe. …show more content…
The Bible supports the idea that the earth is young. Creation week, according the records, happened around 6,000 years ago. Scientific data affirms the Scripture’s testimony in this matter, as we shall see shortly. If the universe were millions of years old the following things would be true. The moon is receding away from us currently. Therefore, we would have to mentally reverse the moon’s progression in order to see where it would have been millions of years ago. If we reverse the moon trajectory path millions of years, we would find that the moon would have had to touch the earth- an illogical impossibility. The Biblical model of a young earth makes much more sense. It would explain why we still have comets and spiral galaxies, and also why we still have a strong magnetic field in our universe. (DeYoung,
