The Hunger Games In The Hunger Games author Suzanne Collins has written an astounding book. The Hunger Games is a remarkable book based on the life in a terrible society in which is Katniss Everdeen, volunteers for the Hunger Games to keep Primrose, her more younger sister from taking part in the Hunger Games. Because of the violence of the story, it is most appropriate for teenagers and grown-ups as opposed to tweens, even though many more young children have read the book or seen the film or both. The Story Katniss Everdeen has been taking care her family since her dad's death in a mining explosion. She has done this by hunting past the borders of District 12. Through her skill with a bow her family has been able to survive. They have also survived on the fact that Katniss agrees to the tessera, a proportion of grain that is given in return for putting your name in the lottery for the procuring, the service that figures out who will be the region's illustrative in the Games. Everybody's name goes in the lottery from the time they achieve the age of 12 until they turn 18.
