I believe that one of the biggest signs of exceptional intelligence is being able to take a complicated or abstract concept and relay it in simple, universally understood terms. This belief advises many of my actions, especially in academia. Most notably, my decision to study computer science. At work, I teach kids as young as kindergarten how to program, and one of the first lessons I always teach is that computers are not especially smart. Programming is about breaking down complex processes in such a way that even a computer, knowing effectively nothing beforehand, can perform it.
