Career Interview My interview is on the career of jewelry. My goal is to get good insight on everything I need to know and do to perhaps have a future on this career. My interview was a good experience and has given me a good look and background of the career. My interview took place in Bijou Jewelers Inc in Downtown, San Diego the person I interviewed was Robert Moussa he is partly the owner of Bijou jeweler’s inc. since his father and the rest of his family own the business as well. The interview I had there was a well worth experience learning about the field and how Robert just doesn’t own part of the store but works there also as a jeweler like all the other employees. What are the biggest challenges in your job?
“Keeping a constant flow of work coming into the shop is the hardest part of being a jeweler. You have to advertise your services and skills to find clients. I use newsletters to stay in touch with clients, but face to face is the best method. Constant promotion is the key” (Moussa).
7. Are there many opportunities in your field? What should people do to get started?
“Some opportunities exist. You can find these positions by training at the colleges that offer jewelry courses. These colleges have career centers that can help you find a job.
You need to have the skills before you can be hired because there are so many good jewelers out there. The competition is too tough to simply jump into the industry straight out of high school” (Moussa).

The learning experience was a unique one and a successful one. Everything I have learned from the interview was plentiful and I’m thankful for it. The interview opened my eyes and gave me new perspective on the career. I learned about what I can do and what courses to take to achieve this career and what skills and characteristics would be useful to have and what some challenges may be there ahead. Aside from the interview questions I also learned about him. I learned that he came from a family of jewelers since 1883 and that he’s the sixth generation which was very interesting to know about him. Overall I learned things about the career and him which was a delightful experience. My goal of seeking this career has not changed and my mind is now set even stronger onto achieving this career one day in my near
