I have currently worked in sales now for nearly seven years and my career goals have not only changed throughout, but have become more apparent to me. In my current role with Charter Communications I feel as though I have plateaued. The position no longer challenges me mentally nor is it helping me gain new skills, and I find myself being bored with what I do. My job title is Account Executive where I am a retail partner, and I act as a liaison in my area between Charter and our partners. As fancy as that sounds, the role solely focuses on me setting up table events and selling our products. I have enjoyed the role and the experience I have gained and do make a generous compensation, but it now lacks the challenging aspect I am looking for. I know that I want to be in a role where I can contribute to the company on a higher level rather than individually. This could mean managing my own team where I get to help develop individuals, ideally in the healthcare field, but as of now I lack the experience. I also know I need to have variance with what I do to keep me on toes, meaning no day is the same and my mind is challenged daily. I know that in order to grow professionally as well as personally I have to take myself out of my comfort zone to do so. For this reason, is why I recently interviewed for the next step-up in my department, an Account Executive 2. In this role I would manage third party vendors within eighteen stores, who are selling Charters products like I do now, but they are contracted. I would be responsible for coaching them, providing feedback, training, various administrative tasks, handling customer escalations to name a few. This would allow me to gain experience as a manager and working with my own team. If I do not get offered this position, I feel it is my time to seek opportunity elsewhere with a
