Since childhood, I always had two passions: communicating with and helping people. Until the age of 10, I was always dreaming about becoming a fairy to extract people’s problems with just one stroke of a magic wand. An experience of transferring to another middle school has landed me by showing that the aims will not come true with just a wave of the magic wand. Up to now, my childhood dream has become my life goal: making people’s lives better using an education as my magic wand. Now I plan to earn my bachelor’s degree and obtain practical experience in the media industry to move towards my goal of using personal and professional knowledge to raise awareness on global issues.

Concordia College New York was the best possible start for me, providing an appropriate adaptation to a new culture due to a small close-knit community, secure campus, and suburban location. Two years at Concordia College allowed me to find my passions through diving into liberal arts core and exploring one of the world’s dynamic cities. Working with respectable professors provided a theoretical background for my future career. Upon my return to Concordia College for my sophomore year, I soon came to realize that my major, New Media and Communications, is only limited to courses like Digital Filmmaking, Documentary Production, and Graphic Design. My interests are becoming more concentrated on the communicational and cultural side of media, and Concordia College does not provide the major I now hope to pursue and practical experience in the media sphere I want to obtain. This semester I am taking Business Communications and in my next school, I want to continue exploring how different ways of communication can benefit both personal and professional
