I work in an electronics store where I get to educate guest about different technologies and their uses. I also listen to the needs of those that do not know what they want and make recommendations to suite them. When I stated my position as a mobile sales consultant, I did not have any experience and learning was my primary task. A mobile sales consultant engages customers to find their immediate and long term mobile needs. They analyze customer account data and usage, to recommend the right product. They also assist customers in getting the right accessories to protect their purchases. Consultants assists the customer by finding out if they are paying too much on their cellphone bill. While most of my training was hands on, I learned a lot from vendor provided information. I would make a proposal to my supervisor that new employees complete the first set of training online which will include everything from customer greetings, group collaborations, to learning about specific products, their technologies, and uses. After computer training is completed there would be a more intensive sales class that goes in depth about sales techniques, customer interaction, and personal growth in the company to keep them motivated about working in with the company. Then, they would have 1-2 weeks of on the floor training which includes shadowing an experienced employee to get to know the functions, duties, and responsibilities of the job.
After the training, employees would then be sent on their own out on the salesfloor to engage customers and apply their training to meet revenue goals set by the company. As employees make sales and recommendations, they would be able to track their progress in a company system and see how they rank against other employees in the company. In place, would also be monthly and annual training that is completed online to keep employees equipped with the latest and most relevant information because technology and company policy changes all the
