my interest in healthcare is what led me to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Health Science at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF).
As a young student pursuing the “applied health promotion and disease prevention” track, I was required to enroll in a variety of tough courses such as measurement statistics and psychology. Through out my studies I participated in many research projects, however one in particular helped motivated me to produce my own goals as a potential healthcare professional. In an effort to implement a nutrition education program amongst CSUF students, I focused on planning, implementing, and evaluating feasible methods for delivering educational services. Throughout this project I developed personal goals that included, but were not limited to, implementing effective methods of healthcare delivery and promoting a safe environment. Towards the end of my undergraduate studies I decided to intern at the UCLA Medical Center and at the Center for Successful Aging at CSUF. I also had made the wise decision to pursue a Minor in Gerontology. The more I studied about Health Science, the more I saw how correlated healthcare was to aging, in particular Gerontology. I carry out administrative duties, prepare treatment plans, and enforce confidentiality policies. Everyday I work hard towards my goals and learn new methods of delivery of care that I would never have been able to learn in a school setting. I ensure that all patients have a positive experience not just because it is my job, but also because I genuinely care.
