I graduated from CSUF with a BA in History and American Studies in May of 2015. I knew that I immediately wanted to continue my education and get my MA in History. However, my immediate career goals had nothing to do with teaching, but instead I found myself interested in working in a public history career such as museum or documentary work. Even though I graduated from CSUF, that wasn’t the only reason I decided to continue my education there. One of the most important factors in my decision was that CSUF is one of the very few universities in the state that offered a public history concentration. I have always found digital history to be extremely interesting, and as the entire world around us becomes more technologically dependent and as technology dramatically improves each year, I believe that it is critically important that digital history is taught as part of a public history curriculum. I heard last semester that a digital history class was going to be offered at CSUF and I knew immediately that I wanted to take it. My dad is an IT consultant so I have been around computers and technology my entire life. Generally I learn technology quickly and I very much enjoy using it, so this class felt like an excellent fit for me. Throughout the semester I would be very interested to learn about how digital museum exhibits are designed and utilized, how audiobooks and possibly even historical documentaries are organized and created, how historical texts are digitized, and better ways to utilize online archives and other digital resources. As far as the learning objectives are concerned, I am looking forward to discussing digital history with my
