Wilfred Peterson once said, “Success is focusing the full power of all you are on what you have a burning desire to achieve.” Success is a large word to completely wrap one’s head around because everyone seems to have a different definition of it. Success can be winning first place at a track meet, or being the CEO of a large company, but success could also be getting an A on the final or being able to ride a bike for the first time. Success is the ability to accomplish a set goal which is achieved through the act of overcoming an obstacle. Success is something people work to achieve. It may come easy, but it can also be difficult to come by. Success can come in many forms; financial, school, family, and athletics. As long as it is hard earned, and through a struggle then success can be made. Success is not something one gets handed. In order to become a successful doctor, one must struggle through school and has to build a good reputation with patients and hospitals. A doctor is not just given his PhD or handed his entrance into a hospital residency. That would be to easy, no struggle to achieve the goal is not rewarding at all.

Success can label someone as a “try-hard” or an overachiever. For example, someone who works all day and night can be an overachiever or a workaholic, but in reality they are just trying to get that promotion they had wanted for their whole life These.labels ] set people outside of the norm just because they strive to make their goal. Some view success as limited, because having a family or a stable job is viewed as mediocre and not a goal.
