During World War II, the German Reich marched across the entire continent of Europe. During the Holocaust, many people became discouraged and lost hope in the future of society. Amsterdam in World War II was horrible for jews,because during February 22,1941 jews were getting arrested by the Germans,but all together they deported the seven hundred jews to Buchenwald concentration camp. And then some of the jews were deported from Buchenwald to Mauthausen camp and by then most of those jews were killed their. Anne Frank was a German jewish tennager who was forced to go to hiding during the Holocaust. She was born June 12,1920, Anne and her family, along with four others spent over two years during World War II, hiding in an annex full of rooms above her father’s office in Amsterdam. Anne Frank later on in life died in March 12,1945 in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in Germany.
BUCHENWALD CAMP My camp that I was assigned was Buchenwald,this was built when concentration camps were barely,getting construction. The camp was established in July 16,1937 the first 300 prisoners arrived that day. The Jews were liberated in April 11,1945 by the U.S. Army (cf.liberator section),Chuck Ferree was the first to share his story. Buchenwald was build in Germany near woody areas,It was located in Weimar,Germany which was chosen by SS General Eicke.

The Franks family moved to Amsterdam after founding out the horrible circumstances in Germany. They were hiding in Anne’s dad’s Otto Frank’s company building for two years before they they were found and sended to concentration camp to Germany. During their hiding time Anne Frank was writing a diary about her everyday life and all the horrible circumstances they went through.
Imagine living in a small box like a mouse with eight other people terrified that you might be caught by a cat. Anne Frank entered this box at the age of thirteen in 1942 in Amsterdam, Holland. She hid there for two years from 1942 to 1944. During this period, the only source of entertainment for Anne was writing in a diary. A red checkered diary given to her by her father for her birthday.
Happiness can shed light in the darkest of times. Anne Frank’s diary not only shed light on the horrific life of the Jews during World War II, but also emphasized the hope they had to stay alive. Although the Franks and those living with them were frightened, Anne was a spark of hope and happiness throughout the secret annex. She was a young Jewish girl that had to grow up in a terrible time for her family. Her parents names were Edith and Otto Frank, she also had an older sister named Margot. Anne and her family were forced to go into hiding when Adolf Hitler and the Nazi’s took over Germany.
(Hook) On July 6, 1942, the Frank family was forced to go into hiding in a secret annex after their oldest daughter, Margot, receives a letter to work at a concentration camp. (Bridge) Their youngest daughter, Anne, is an aspiring writer who has recently received a journal for her birthday on June 29, 1942, not even a month prior to her disappearance from society. (FS1) Anne Frank and her family were Jewish, living in a time period where it was illegal to be of that ethnicity and religion. (FS2) Anne decides to use her journal to document all of the events of the Annex, and what it was like to be an undercover Jew in such a dark period in history.
Between the years 1939-1945 the world went through some major changes. In 1939 Germany had invaded Poland, starting World War II. The Nazis had overrun much of Europe. In 1942, the Nazis began to transport millions of Jews from all across Europe and were forced on labor camps and extermination camps. In Poland, a quarter of the prisoners were worked to death.
