I think the objectives set forth in Healthy People are a step in the right direction. They set goals that may not always be reached 100% but they are realistic and attainable. They always show improvement in areas that need work. However, there are some discrepancies that definitely stop the progress that Healthy People has set forth.

Healthy People 2020 are a collaboration between local, state, and federal organizations dedicated to improving the social and physical environment of communities. These organizations recognize that there are many aspects of our social and physical environment that can directly influence the quality of one’s health. As a result, Healthy People 2020 has implemented a ten year plan whose primary goal is to improve the overall health of communities across America and therefore, build a healthier society.
There are three objectives from the Adolescent Health goal found in Healthy People 2020 related to Paul Ramen’s care plan. First, Ah-1, which is about adolescents who have had a wellness checkup in the past 12 months. He didn’t check up wellness because he couldn’t have a chance to check up. According to the Healthy People 2020, this object’s purpose is Increase the proportion of the adolescents’, which is 68.7 percent of teenagers aged 10 to 17 years had a wellness checkup in the previous 12 months, as reported in 2008.
Furthermore, it stated that Heath is a member of the “Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA) and the International Travel Writers Alliance (ITWA)” (Heath). After reading several articles and verses I can see where you can cross the worldview and secular view of wellness. At face value the words that make up the definition seem to mean the same thing. The real difference is how wellness is achieved. Secular wellness is achieved through actions that are dependent on you. How you take care of yourself for example, exercise, diet and lifestyle.

The wellness of a human being has been broken down into five sections. These sections are: emotional wellness, intellectual wellness, physical wellness, social wellness and spiritual wellness. I think my strongest section for my personal wellness is my emotion, intellect and physical wellness. However, my weakest sections are social wellness and spiritual wellness. I believe that my emotional wellness is my strongest section.
I strongly value my health and believe that health is our greatest form of wealth. When one lives a healthy lifestyle, it means more opportunities to explore the world, build families, achieving anything the heart desires and conquering personal goals. The behavior change philosophy fits my personal philosophy of health education the most because it involves goal setting, behavioral contracts and self-monitoring to help foster the modification of an unhealthy habit. The behavior change philosophy is very important because change is a process, not an event. Self-efficacy and motivation are key factors in successful behavior changes.
When exploring what is health, it looks at the idea of an individual being free from illness or injuries (World Health Organization 1948). WHO further explains that it is the state of complete: physical, mental, and social well-being and not the absence of disease or infirmity (health context, 2018) In 1986 during Ottawa Charter for Health Promotion, WHO said health is a resource for everyday life, not the objective of living, also is a positive concept emphasizing social, personal resources, and physical capacities. There are different aspects that contribute and impact a person’s health such as their: family and friends, education or job, body, spirit and mind, and all these need to balance to ensure good health (health context, 2018).
Next to health is wellness. On the other hand, wellness is an active process of being aware of and making choices towards a more successful existence. These are some of the dimension of health and wellness.
