English 101 has taught me how to become a more professional writer. Throughout the semester I have learned how to write a critical, explanatory and an argumentative paper. The skills that I have learned such as MLA format, correct writing technique and so many other techniques have prepared me for the future with college classes and my future job. I have also learned how to use time wisely and work hard to get the assignment done. It is important to follow all instructions that are given so that one will fully understand what to do for the assignment. I believe that finishing assignment on time and using my time wisely will help prepare me for other college courses. My writing has progressed throughout the semester as I have been able to compose an essay with style and organization, apply critical thinking and reading skills to my papers and improve as a writer from learning from my previous mistakes. With the experience of college level writing, I have learned how to compose an essay with style and organization. Organization is important for any well-written paper. Having organization throughout the paper will allow the reader to fully understand what the papers point is. The best way to have organization in a paper is to have topic sentences for each body paragraph that supports the thesis. My professor Deborah Schwartz states, “Body paragraphs should reflect the key points of your discussion in your thesis statement so that the thesis statement becomes an effective statement to guide your points of persuasion.” The thesis statement should include three different points that the writer will further explain in their body paragraphs. As I started out at the beginning of the semester, I struggled with organizing my body paragraphs with my thesis in module 1 summary and module 2 critiques. I quickly
