English-Composition Reflection

When first I came to English-Composition II class in summer 2014, I was nervous about writing papers. I did not like reading either, and as a result, I would never finish reading a long paper. However, after writing some easy papers during the first weeks of class, it seems that the essays I thought were difficult became easy. We had five major assignments through the semester: rhetorical analysis, synthesis, scholarly journal analysis, annotated bibliography, and the final research paper. These assignments came in order from the easiest one to the hardest one; nevertheless, by the time I started working on the hardest one, it became not only easy, but also enjoyable. After writing all these paper with a great progression, I am convinced that I have become a good writer, thinker, and researcher. …show more content…

Now, I have realized that I did not hate them; rather I did not love either one because I did not have a chance to study in the way I studied in this class. For the first assignment, for example, we had two options for writing a rhetorical analysis: respond to one short article, or compare two short articles and respond to both of them. I chose to respond to one article because I did not want to read two articles, and I did not write as much as I supposed to write since I did not like writing. In contrast, on the final research paper I wrote more than nine pages instead of the minimum of seven pages, and I used ten sources in my paper instead of the minimum of seven sources. It proves that how I loved reading and writing during this semester and in my opinion, loving reading and writing is a sign of being a good thinker and
