For paper four, I decided to revise my ethnography essay over the struggles that teachers face and turn it into a new genre. I knew that portraying the struggles that teachers face might be a difficult task. I decided to transfer the ideas from that paper into three posters and one rally posters that you might see at strike or walk out for teachers. I intended for my posters to each focus around the audience of teachers, students, or parents. Further in my paper I will clarify each poster and explain how each poster has a specific intended audience within a school corporation. Posters are always visually appealing to the eye and tend to stand out in the crowd. Posters have bold and large text to get their main message out as fast as possible because the audience member may not have a lot of time to read all the information on the poster. It is also crucial that posters do not have too much writing on them or use too small of font because we do not want to lose the attention of our audience. During this process I wanted to make sure I didn’t overdo any of my designs for my posters because I did not want it to become too distracting and draw the audience away from the main idea of the poster or the meaning it was conveying. As I mentioned above, I wanted to create posters that all audience members could relate to but ultimately, I had a certain audience set aside for each poster. My first poster was about free after school tutoring in a school corporation. Teachers struggle with having bigger class sized and because of that it is hard to juggle all the individual academic needs of each student in the classroom.
