As a toddler, I used to read books about a monkey by the name of George. His curiosity often got him into trouble, but I find that my curiosity drives me to exciting discoveries. I am the kind of person who is as thrilled climbing a mountain as solving a difficult math equation. The inner workings of the world fascinate me, and I am constantly searching to understand it more completely. I also find great satisfaction from exploring what I can build with my own two hands. I believe that my greatest contribution to Georgia Tech will be my curiosity.
Mathematics and physics have always fascinated me. They enable me to quantify the unquantifiable, giving me the tools to see the world as one great machine with trillions of moving parts coming together in perfect harmony. I cherish knowledge that I can use in practical applications. One day in AP Physics C, we were challenged to launch model rockets at a target, requiring extensive calculations to get the perfect trajectory. My teacher was impressed that I was one of the few to actually hit the target. Practical experimentation like this gives life to the formulas and equations.

I saw this as the only way to bring my dreams of designing aircraft to life. Lately, however, I’ve realized that my curiosity encompasses all things mechanical, not just aircraft. Mechanical engineering will give me a much broader palette of tools to solve problems, especially when supplemented with classes in aeronautics. I will contribute a different perspective to studies in mechanical and aerospace engineering as tech, as I will see them from an interrelated viewpoint.
