To start, leadership is the ability to guide others towards achieving different things. In Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), the main objective is to strengthen this skill within different members so that they can become productive members of society. "Service, education and progress” is the slogan of FBLA, which shortly summarizes the goals of the organization that cater towards creating business minded leaders. Leadership is not a skill that can be easily achieved, but requires growth and discipline over time. From the two years that I have been within FBLA, I have been able to grow my leadership abilities, and from it I have learned that this is a quality that heavily relies on completing different tasks and consistently working together with groups of people. Next school year, I would like to take on the position of president for the Stephenson High School’s FBLA chapter. I want this position because I feel that I will be able to effectively lead the chapter towards achieving its goals. Not only do I have leadership skills, but I am also skilled in critical thinking, organizing, problem solving, and evaluating. All these skills will allow me to manage the different committees that are within the chapter and help me in engaging members in different activities to become the community-minded business leaders that the chapter prepares students to become. I am aware that the president position requires a person that can serve as a motivational figure, because a team without a motivated leader will ultimately fail. Motivation is a process that I know well, as it is what allows me to maintain the drive needed for me to be the dedicated person that I am. As president of the chapter, I will strive to install a motivational drive within FBLA
