Making up one out of every five job opportunities in the United States, agriculture has seeped into a diversity of career options. This illustrates the very obvious fact that agriculture impacts our life in many ways, and in ways we may not have even thought of. Agriculture has spawned an organization known as FFA. FFA educates people about these opportunities and career choices. It guides and creates future agriculturalists, as well as provides a great learning environment for numerous areas of growth. Agriculture is crucial in many aspects of our life. Possibly one of the most obvious role is putting food on our table. Agriculture is inclusive of the fields, farms, crops, animals, and many other places and organisms that yield edible products. FFA is a great way to further expand knowledge of these provisions as well as get involved. FFA’s mission is officially stated as “The National FFA Organization is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education.” As seen in the statement, FFA is perfect for developing different areas of growth. One of these areas is leadership. This means the ability to strategize and work with a team to accomplish goals. Aside from team related activities, it’s also a time for individual growth. It pushes students to get involved in their community, and provides activities that help them learn more about their environment. It also influences students to be more generous towards those who need it. Finally, it provides career success. FFA exposes students to various jobs and careers, and equips them with the knowledge and skills they need to prepare for those occupations.
