Finding the college that was right for me was a daunting experience. The main reason I enrolled in my current school, Felician University, was because of the academic and athletic scholarships I was offered. Little did I know, my educational experience would be so much richer than academics and athletics; it has been one of integral personal and academic development. Over the last four years, I have been able to go out of my comfort zone and become a leader in my community. When I first became a member of my university’s Campus Activities Board (CAB) during my sophomore year, I started to feel the need to support other students and strive to make my community a better place. After the experiences accrued, I feel a sense of urgency to prepare myself to work with college populations ensuring that I can design and provide these kinds of growth opportunities. I am a strong believer that part of my success as an undergraduate has been involvement in diverse community activities. Thus, I would enjoy finding strategies to enhance student’s participation in college community activities as well as in their immediate communities. With all the injustices and obstacles that many college students face when trying to earn their degree, I want to create a safe environment that is accepting is all populations and that challenges students to build inclusive communities. Essential to my motivation to work with students is to enable them to realize that they can accomplish anything they envision. Ultimately, I believe that earning my Master’s degree in College Student Development
