Consider the internet; how should it be limited, and to what degree? Observe the revolutionary advancements mankind has made throughout time. The development of the internet has made it possible for humans to reach across the globe and communicate. International businesses are capable of communicating through the internet, therefore increasing business interactions across the globe. Net neutrality makes it possible for access to all content and applications regardless of what type of source (Snider, Yu, & Brown, 2015). This will make your computer more vulnerable to malicious malware. If internet censorship was utilized more efficiently all the sensitive material could be blocked. What is internet censorship? I believe this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ohH-RkSLo4) explains the usefulness of internet censorship (Computerphile, 2016). Governments could censor across the web, and monitor suspicious activity on a smaller scale. Even if the user somehow got passed the first block, the server monitoring the activity could block the user’s IP address during the second block. Online censorship is expanding, other countries are exploring the possibilities of branching the internet censorship. This technique has been utilized in other countries such as China (Denyer, 2016). I am not trying to convince the public that the United States should be more like China. The heavy internet restrictions in China has negatively affected growing American companies that function in China (Crouch, 2016). The internet restrictions are valuable, but we must know how to use the restrictions efficiently without causing lasting damage.
