Funding continues to be a topic of much discussion in the health and social care sector. This essay has three aims. Firstly, it will try to demonstrate a critical awareness of the changing landscape across the health and social care sector. The second aim of this essay is to attempt to accurately and independently identify the trends in relation to the workplace and any career opportunities. The essay also seeks to critically reflect upon skills, aptitudes and knowledge acquired throughout the entire programme and identify opportunities for future professional and academic development. This is an important issue since it has an impact on several aspects of the health and social care sector. Funding has had an effect on several stakeholders who are involved in practice. Funding is complex especially when considering that there are several areas of health and social care that require more funding than others. This assignment will be focusing on funding in primary schools, this is due it having an influence on my current workplace. The current trend of funding in primary education is steadily decreasing since 2016 and it is predicted that it will continue to decline in the future (Belfield, Crawford and Sibieta, 2017). This is an issue due to the grants that are given to state-funded school only 7% of the whole grant is given to primary education and that was before the budget cuts. This shows a complexity within the educational system in the health and social care sector due to the fact that there are multiple different forms of education, some of these include; primary, secondary, higher and specialist. This may mean that it is difficult for the government to decide what form of education takes a higher priority than the others. The service users’ beliefs about the complexity of the complexity of this topic do not understand it as well as the practitioners’ due to them being too young, however, the service users are still being affected by this issue in a similar way to the practitioners
