The enchanting skyline that travels for miles and miles; lights that reach the stars illuminate the dark sky; melodies of busy streets and hustling people fill the air. This is the city that never sleeps. 8.5 million of us shine to enliven the streets of New York City, doing our best to last through the dark. As humans, we are attracted to changes in the contrasts of hues, which is why we are mesmerized by flickering lights. Lights signal certain thoughts, and based on their origins, we walk a path of induced curiosity.
National Junior Honors Society Essay By: Megan Pacchioli I am very excited by the opportunity to represent my school as a member of the National Junior Honors Society. Both in and out of school I support the Five Pillars of the NJHS, which are scholarship, service, citizenship, character, and leadership. I represent these five pillars by my grades and academic achievements in school, my dedication to my church, my dojo, and my soccer team. As well as taking part in my communities activities, being a responsible person, and manifesting my leadership on the court/field out of school.
Honors Academy? Jr. Honors Academy students acquire sophisticated academic skills and increased self-confidence in preparation for college by engaging in rigorous courses of study. I am honored to be nominated for Crestwood’s National Honor Society for the 2017-2018 school year. I feel as if I use these four characteristics every day. Scholarship is something that I take for granted. When I think of school, I think it’s easy and all it takes is doing your homework to get good grades.
I deserve to be in Honors World History. I deserve to be in Honors because I put effort into my work. Another reason why I deserve to be in Honors is because I like to improve upon anything that I can, whether that be my grades, hobbies, or sports. The final reason why I think I deserve to be in Honors is because I like to learn and engage in interesting topics. When I do things I don’t like them to be half done.
To the Graduate Selection Committee: I am applying to your MFA program for the fall of 2016. Over the past five years, I have been involved with art and design as a student, professional, volunteer and curator. Currently, I am working as design studio executive in Tetra Pak Pakistan. After a few years of working as a graphic artist in the printing industry, I started to get anxious and more interested in my own personal work.
Personal Statement for Graduate School I was born and grew up in Afghanistan and finished my school in Kabul Afghanistan, in a school which was trying to encourage girls and women to get education and be active in their social life. Growing as women in Afghanistan is not easy. Even sometime you need to fight for your basic rights such going out, school or you cannot decide about your life. In some areas such as rural areas women even do not know about their rights. They think that their families, father, mother or brother have right to make decision for them and women should not get education.
I am interested in Iowa state university's graduate Ph.D. program because it is an exceptional and powerful program that will provide me the opportunity to broaden my skills by virtue of additional experience. In effect, it will further prepare myself for a sharper future in _bio, medicinal_chemistry research. As an undergraduate student at the University of Toledo, I am pursuing a major in medicinal biochemistry and am an active undergraduate researcher in a biochemistry lab studying tuberclulosis. My ideal research field includes biochemistry and drug development and design. It is captivating to consider the myriad of different molecules, enzymes, and reactions within the body to produce a certain effect and I find the mechanism in which
Stephanie Beatriz once said “I made good grades in school”. In Composition I, I have learned many new things that will help me in Composition II. I have spent a lot of time and effort on these essays and to pick a grade is easy. I believe that I deserve an “A” in this class for all the hard work that I have put into my compositions. I believe that I deserve an “A” because this class has drastically improved my writing skills, I have started to participate in class discussions, and because I have put a lot of hard work into this class.
I want to further my education, on which I have begun to build with more than three years of work experience in the Information Technology (IT) field, by pursuing graduate studies in Engineering Management at The University of Texas at Austin. After graduating with Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Texas A&M University, I felt I should first gain some hands-on experience in learning and solving real life problems and in understanding the process flow in the IT area. I have enjoyed the three years of my work experience, especially the opportunity I got to be part of the innovative projects such as Advanced Battery development program which offers valuable features such as reporting, scheduling, etc. key to a scalable manufacturing system, used Site Minder as authorization or authentication middleware and so on.
I grew up in a third world country that prioritized rapid industrialization above environmental sustainability with the end result of highly unacceptable levels of toxic industrial wastes and effluent emissions. Seeing the thunderous cheers and jubilation from oil and gas engineers when an oil well is perforated and extraction begins without considering the negative effects this has on the environment, is quite alarming. I always wondered if the multiple oil spills, or casual gas flaring, was due to the incompetence of the engineers on the job, or just an unavoidable side-effect of oil and gas production. Although the oil industry has undoubtedly contributed immensely to the growth and development of Nigeria, I grew more and more interested
There is an exceptionally renowned saying, "If you think education is expensive, then try ignorance". I couldn't concur more. I trust education is important to gain information and plan hypotheses, yet it is similarly as imperative to know how to apply those speculations and utilize that information in this present reality. To be equipped and aggressive I will require a graduate degree. A graduate degree will surrender me the to-date instruments and learning that are the need of great importance.
To achieve this, I crave a place of concentrated learning that has never really been offered to me before and I am ready to grab the opportunity by the horns. What the Honors College can offer me is unlike anything in my previous years of education. I’m fully prepared for the learning and social opportunities offered to me by the college. I am excited to learn alongside many other incredible peers and begin to make connections that can share a lifetime of successes with me. While my background may be riddled with statistical commonalities, I assure you, my personality is anything
I know that my undergraduate experience will pave the way for my future success, so I hope to gain more qualities that will continue to assist me in achieving my future endeavors. One quality I hope to improve during my undergraduate-college experience is networking. Currently I attend a high school that is very small compared to other traditional schools. It is really easy for me to communicate with others around me including my teachers. I know that college will be different, due to the difference in size, so, I hope to build on my networking abilities by building relationships with my professors or seeking to participate in additional educational opportunities.
